Tyce Raises $2M Pre-Seed to Revolutionize Construction Bidding with AI
Toronto-based startup equips general contractors, subcontractors and AEC firms with private, construction-specific AI to catch costly mistakes and win more work.

TORONTO, October 19, 2026 – Tyce, an innovative technology company transforming the construction bidding process, today announced $2 million ($2.8 million CAD) in pre-seed funding, led by key venture partners the Business Development Bank of Canada’s (BDC) Thrive Venture Fund and MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF).
Private AI for preconstruction teams
Bidding on commercial and public infrastructure projects is traditionally a labor-intensive, risky process for contractors and subcontractors. Tyce gives each contractor a private AI system configured with its own project data. The platform reviews drawings and specifications, flags scope gaps and risky contract terms, supports estimating and trade bid management, and drafts proposals, so preconstruction teams can bid on more projects in less time and with fewer surprises.
“Contractors build the infrastructure we all depend on, yet they still plan and bid on multi-million-dollar projects by manually combing through thousands of pages of drawings and documents. This funding lets us grow our team and put AI built for preconstruction in the hands of more contractors, so they can catch costly scope gaps, bid on more work and build better.”Lylia Djait-Paulien, CEO and Co-founder, Tyce
Built in Toronto, for Ontario’s infrastructure push
The timing matters for Ontario. The province has committed more than $200 billion over the next 10 years to infrastructure, from hospitals and transit to highways and schools. Delivering on that commitment depends on Ontario’s contractors having the capacity to price and bid more work accurately. Built in Toronto, Tyce helps local general contractors and trades take on more of that work with the teams they already have.
Eastern Construction, one of Ontario’s leading general contractors and an early adopter of AI in construction, has rolled out Tyce across its preconstruction teams, cutting the time spent bidding on and managing construction projects by at least 40%.
“Ontario’s contractors are being asked to deliver more than ever, and we can’t do it by adding hours. With Tyce, tasks that took our preconstruction team five hours now take 15 minutes, so our people spend their time on judgment and strategy, not chasing documents.”Dean Walker, CEO, Eastern Construction
Backed by BDC Thrive and MaRS IAF
“Tyce is addressing a significant challenge in construction by reimagining how contractors assess risk and prepare bids. Lylia and her team combine deep industry insight with a practical application of AI. Their vision for a category-defining Canadian company aligns with our fund’s focus on women-led technology businesses with the potential to transform industries.”Mona Minhas, Managing Partner, BDC Thrive Venture Fund
“We are supporting Tyce because they are tackling a massive, systemic pain point in construction: the time and capital wasted on high-risk, inefficient bidding, Lylia and Anuar have built an elegant AI solution that delivers immediate ROI by helping contractors bid more accurately, win better contracts and protect their margins. Tyce is positioned to define the next era of construction management software, and we are proud to lead their journey from the ground up.”William Ma, Managing Director, MaRS IAF
What’s next
The new capital will be used to scale Tyce’s engineering team, enhance its core AI model capabilities, and drive market expansion across North America.
Tyce helps contractors price, plan, and bid on jobs with confidence by providing continuous insights into contract details and project scope. By eliminating administrative bottlenecks, the platform drastically cuts down bid turnaround times while safeguarding businesses from costly missteps.
